WHO WE ARE
Experience from the casthouse floor
Al-Genius was founded in 2015 by Einar Smárason, after more than a decade in casthouse automation, metallurgy, process control and management at Rio Tinto Alcan (ISAL), followed by three years as Market Manager for the casting equipment supplier Hycast (Hydro Aluminium).
That mix of producer, equipment supplier and consultant perspectives shapes how we work. We have run casthouse production, sold and commissioned the equipment, and supported owners from installation through start-up to stable operation.
It is also where MES-AL comes from. A background in industrial software engineering and PLC/SCADA commissioning made it natural to build that casthouse knowledge into a system.
